The 20 Most-Disliked Videos on YouTube (2023)

Did you know people watch more than a billion hours of video on YouTube every day?

That means being the most-anything on the site holds a lot of weight. In the case of these 20 videos, they hold the coveted title of most disliked videos on the site.

Hey, they say all press is good press, right?

Let’s take a look at the 20 most disliked videos on YouTube. If you look closely, you’ll quickly see a common theme: some of YouTube’s most popular videos also seem to attract the most hate.

The 20 most-disliked YouTube videos

20. "Dame Tu Cosita" by El Chombo (5.01m dislikes)

The last time Panamanian DJ/remixer El Chombo (real name: DJ Rodney Clark) was talked about on Billboard was back in 2001, thanks to the novelty smash “El Gato Volador.”

Next, came “Dame Tu Cosita,” which, in 2018, entered the Hot 100 at No. 81 due to this animated video. A little green alien dances along to the song in an interesting manner. Funnily enough, the video is also one of the most liked.

19. "Baa Baa Black Sheep" by CoComelon (5.03m dislikes)

We know what you’re thinking: the nursery rhyme for children? It was a head-scratcher for us too. The video is one of many CoComelon features on the list, all of which seem to fall under the category of wildly-liked, subsequently hated.

According to the Guardian, CoCoMelon’sYouTube channel is the second most-viewed channel on Earth, with 82bn views and a $120m annual ad revenue.

18. "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee (5.17m dislikes)

Funnily enough, earlier in the year Despacito took the number one spot in our article: the 20 Most-Liked Videos on YouTube. With 45 million likes and only 5 million dislikes, we chalk this one up to haters of the song. How could you not enjoy the catchy rhythm?

17. "Chal Chal Gurram" by infobells - Telegu (5.27m dislikes)

Coming in at 17 with over 5 million dislikes, Chal Chal Gurram is one of the most popular rhymes in Telugu. Telegu is the largest member of the Dravidian language family, and is primarily spoken in southeastern India.

The animated video shows a young girl and her horse going on a ride through the woods. Certainly a hit with kids in these areas of India.

16. "It's Everyday Bro" by Jake Paul ft. Team 10 (5.43m dislikes)

You may have heard of Jake Paul from his recent forays into professional boxing. Or maybe you remember him from his days of Disney channel fame. Either way, he’s infamous in the world of TikTok and, before that, Vine.

This music video stars Jake Paul and features Team 10, a social media incubator and management company, co-founded by Jake. The group of social media stars dance behind Jake as he spits out a cringe-worthy rap, garnering the video 5.4 million dislikes.

15. "Flores" by Vitão & Luísa Sonza (5.53m dislikes)

When Brazilian singers Vitão and Luísa Sonza collaborated for this steamy video in July, Sonza received a tirade of sexist comments calling it overly racy.

While the video definitely isn’t PG-13, it doesn’t fall far out of the realm of standard music videos when it comes to suggestive moves. Yet the video has over twice as many dislikes as likes.

14."Keysha Play Filling Water in Balloons Daddy Finger Nursery Rhymes | Learn Colors With Balloons" by Zuni and Family (5.66 dislikes)

This catchily titled video is an educational video for children, set to a nursery rhyme.

13. "Can this video get 1 million dislikes?" by PewDiePie (5.66m dislikes)

PewDiePie got the 1 million dislikes he wanted for this video, and another 4.62 million dislikes on top of that. These numbers aren’t surprising when you consider his following is around 105 million subscribers on YouTube.

This video was published in December of 2016 and has gotten over 20 million views since.

12. "Humpty the train on a fruits ride" by Kiddiestv Hindi (6.04m dislikes)

Another head-scratcher here, this children’s video features Humpty - a friendly talking train. In Hindi, Humpty learns all about fruits from strawberries to pineapples and apples.

Sitting at 6.04 million dislikes and 7.9 million likes, there seem to be more Humpty lovers than haters out there.

11."Old MacDonald Had a Farm" by Bounce Patrol (6.08m dislikes)

We're sure you're familiar with this nursery classic, and this Bounce Patrol version has certainly been divisive - it's racked up over 6 million dislikes since 2013.

10. "Wheels on the Bus" by CoComelon (6.61m dislikes)

CoComelon makes another appearance on the charts with the schoolyard classic “Wheels on the Bus.”

If you haven’t caught on by now, children’s videos are certainly prevalent on this list. This particular video sits at 6.61 million dislikes and 9 million likes, indicating mixed feelings from viewers.

9. "Lakdi ki kathi" by Jingle Toons (6.99m dislikes)

Lakdi ki kathi, kathi pe ghoda is a very popular Hindi song. That said, this animated version of this song takes the number nine spot on our list of most disliked YouTube videos.

Featuring beautiful scenes of kids playing outside, it’s hard to guess why this would be on our list but with 6.99 million dislikes it’s hard to ignore.

8. "Bath Song" by CoComelon (8.39m dislikes)

You guessed it, another CoComelon appearance on the list. This video was released in May 2018 to the tune of Baby Shark (which also made this list). We see what appears to be two young brothers taking a bath together and helping each other get clean.

It’s a cute animation until the lines get stuck in your head. We suspect parents hearing this song one too many times in a day may have played a hand in the 8.39 million dislikes. Can you blame them?

7. "Learning Colors – Colorful Eggs on a Farm" by Мирошка ТВ (8.47m dislikes)

We’ve seen plenty of children’s videos so far but this may be the longest. Running for a total of five minutes and 10 seconds, this animated video teaches young children about colors via cartoon eggs with somewhat creepy smiles.

The video is narrated in Russian, but the song that plays in the background is “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” sung in English. You’ll definitely learn these colors by the end but your dreams may also be filled with smiling Russian eggs – tough tradeoff.

6. "YouTube Rewind 2019: For the Record" by YouTube (9.55m dislikes)

Yes, you read that right. A YouTube-generated video is nudging the top 5 for most disliked video. Funnier than that? This video was a response to a 2018 version of the same kind.

In this video, users see highlights of the most viewed videos from 2019 - an improvement from its predecessor but still not hitting the mark apparently. This video sits at number 6 with 9.5 million dislikes (more than double the amount of likes).

5. "Johny Johny Yes Papa" by LooLoo Kids (11.44m dislikes)

Like so many other songs for kids, this one is repetitive and contains simple lyrics. Running at less than two minutes long, the video itself features a baby trying to sneak sugar cubes when his father isn’t looking. An odd story line that somehow got this video over 11 million dislikes.

4. "Baby" by Justin Bieber (12.40m dislikes)

That’s right. J.Biebs made the most disliked YouTube videos list. With 18 million likes and another 12 million dislikes, it’s clear viewers are a mixed bag.

We know millions of kids have screamed these lyrics at school dances, and we’d guess millions of parents waited patiently for the song to lose its luster.

3. "Sadak 2 Trailer" by FoxStarHindi (13.63m dislikes)

It only took one week after this video's release for the YouTube trailer to become the second most disliked video on the site.

According to the India Times, much of the outrage stemmed from the casting of the film. Nepotism runs rampant in Bollywood and fans have had enough, over 13 million of them to be exact.

2. "Baby Shark Dance" by Pinkfong Baby Shark (14.39m dislikes)

It’s the children’s song that is guaranteed to get stuck in your head. In fact, we’d recommend not clicking the link if you aren’t prepared to be humming along in your head all day.

The video itself has 14 million dislikes which pales in comparison to the 29 million likes. We are sure this song has kept kids occupied for hours, sometimes at the cost of a raging headache for their parents.

1. "YouTube Rewind 2018: Everyone Controls Rewind" by Youtube (19.66m dislikes)

And the number one spot goes to YouTube itself. This Rewind video was intended to be a look back on 2018 from an influencers-lens. Unfortunately for the company, viewers were not impressed with what they considered to be a cringeworthy attempt at connecting with audiences.

The video sits at over 19 million dislikes, 6 million more than number two on this list.
